Every year, Prestat, Purveyors of Chocolate by Appointment to Her Majesty the Queen, prepare a very special Easter egg for delivery to the palace.
This year we were privileged to observe the meticulous care with which this most precious of chocolate treats is prepared.
Bill Keeling, the co-owner of Prestat, reveals that the hand-made egg can weigh as much as four pounds and is filled with “all sorts of surprises – different surprises each year.”
“It’s always with a sense of trepidation that the great egg is sent off to the palace, and we always hope it receives a royal welcome,” says Keeling.
